The Czech versatile defender becomes the new star of the Turkish team.

Tomáš Ujfaluši is officially a player of Galatasaray. The defender agreed on a 2 year contract with option for the 3rd. He leaves Atlético de Madrid after three successful seasons, during which he had won the Europe Leauge as well as the European SuperCup. In the Turkish club, he will play together with his former national team team-mate and friend Milan Baroš.

"In Atlético I've been very happy, during my three seasons there I won two cups. I thought I would play there until the end of my career, but the offer Galatasaray made was impossible to refuse. Above all the coach, Fatih Terim, wanted me. I thought about it a lot, but considering Atlético will lose De Gea, Forlan, Aguero and some more important players, I feel I have better chances to fight for Europe in Galatasaray as well as challenge for the league title, the only thing I miss."
